The Purpose

We created the 32 Aerodynamicist UD Carbon Spoke Disc wheelset for riders who seek out the high mountains. The result of extensive research and development, and years of experience progressing proprietary HUNT Aerodynamicist designs, we paired lightweight, hookless rims with UD Carbon Spokes for added lateral stiffness, as well as further weight reduction. Laced to our new cold-forged Sprint SLC hubs with rapid 7.5-degree engagement and enhanced power transfer, this wheelset is exceedingly lightweight at 1213 grams, while still offering the responsiveness, reliability and serviceability that HUNT riders have come to expect.

6% more laterally responsive than identical steel spoked wheels, with significantly less weight. Further benefiting from the high-frequency vibration absorption capabilities of carbon fibre in the UD spokes, as well as the rim. Please see the graph in the image gallery below.

Rims | 700c Hookless/Straight-Sidewall Design | A hookless rim design allows for the lightest possible rim while still maintaining strength and reliability.
Tyres | 21mm internal rim width, optimized for superior aerodynamic performance with a 28mm tubeless tyre. Please note, clincher tyres must not be used on hookless rims. Always consult the tyre manufacturer’s guidance for compatibility with hookless rims.
FastEngage 7.5 Hubs | Sprint SLC hubs add strength and enhance power transfer, meaning more of your power pushing you forwards. The hub shell is a cold-forged 7000 series alloy, offering a greater strength-to-weight ratio than extruded 6000 series alloys. Large 15mm diameter hub axles for sprinting and out-of-saddle climbing responsiveness. Circular dropout interface steps ensure a secure fitment. Center-Lock brake mount. EZO Stainless Steel Bearings | High-grade Japanese EZO bearings. Rear hub upgraded to even faster rolling LU/LB low-friction sealed internal face, dual sealed external face bearings.
Spokes | TaperLock UD carbon spokes offer up to a 30% increase in lateral responsiveness against steel equivalents. Only 2.7g per spoke and yet can handle tightening forces of ~450kgf per spoke.

Aerodynamicist profile, disc-specific hookless/straight-sidewall design & aerodynamically optimized for 28c tyres.
Unidirectional T24/30 carbon fibre with 3K weave re-enforced spoke holes.

Spokes

TaperLock UD carbon fibre spokes, weighing only 2.7g per spoke.
18 front (2 cross on rotor side, radial on drive side) and 20 rear (2 cross both sides).

Nipples

TaperLock nipples secure spoke head to the hub.
Square mandrel mounted at the rim end to prevent spoke twisting when truing/replacing.
Internal nipple for truing.
Black anodized finish.

Tyres Info

For the 32 Aerodynamicist UD Carbon Spoke HUNT recommend a 28mm tyre for best performance, tyre widths between 25mm and 65mm are also safe to use. You must not exceed the maximum tyre pressure limits set out in the table below or the maximum limit set by your tyre manufacturer if this is lower. Note: best performance is usually gained by using tyre pressures lower than the maximum, you can see our blog post here about this.
Only use tyres marked as compatible with hookless (TSS) rims. You must not exceed the maximum pressure stated on your tyre.

Suitable tubeless road, gravel and CX tyres are available from a huge range of companies.

Axle Sizes

These wheels are available with all existing disc brake road bike axle adapter sizes. We fit the axles you need, just complete the simple form shown after checkout:

Rear: 12x142mm Thru-Axle, 12x135mm Thru-Axle, 10x135mm Thru-Axle, Quick Release 9x135mm

All HUNT wheels models have to pass our harsh cobbled-rolling-road tests for rider weight limits, please see here for more details. Max system weight 125kg (system weight – total weight of fully kitted up rider, bike and luggage). If a rider is over 105Kgs then an experienced bike mechanic should check the wheel regularly. We are cyclists ourselves and do of course go above and beyond to offer excellent service if you ever do experience any issues. We carry full spares at very reasonable prices and offer complete support.

We are cyclists and as such strive to offer class leading service and support. Buy with confidence, if for any reason you wish to return the wheels for a full refund of your order you can do so up to a full 60 days after you receive them whether they have been ridden or not.
