We've left no stone unturned in designing this wheelset from the ground up to be very fastest in the world within its class. Wind tunnel tested and proven to be even faster than a (carbon) Zipp 202 NSW when paired with 28c tyres.</i>
<h1>Real World Tested</h1><i>We test our wheels when riding to work, racing, and spending as much time as we possibly can on our bikes. We develop the wheels we want to ride the most as cyclists ourselves.</i>
<h1>Rims</h1><i>The broad shape and large radius spoke bed profile (developed by Luisa for the LIMITLESS project allows excellent transfer of airflow from tyre to the rim and then around the spoke bed to ensure low aerodynamic drag at a wide range of yaw angles.</i>
<h1>Rims</h1><i>To achieve the wide profile, yet also create a lightweight 1548g high performance wheelset, 6069-T6 alloy was the right choice. It has a 69% higher Ultimate Tensile Strength (480 Mega Pascals), than the 6061-T6 alloy (280 MPa) often used in performance road rims.</i>
<h1>Nipples</h1><i>Despite designing a wheelset with aerodynamic supremacy in mind, serviceability and usability has always been a core philosophy of how we put wheels together. External spoke nipples are absolutely the right choice with this in mind, especially when running tubeless tyres as you would have to remove the tubeless tape to access the nipples were they to be internal</i>
<h1>Wing Spokes</h1><i>After considerable testing across multiple spoke types (including analysis against competitor spokes), we found that the aerofoil profile of Pillar's Wing 20 spokes offer even further aerodynamic advantages over flat/bladed options.</i>
<h1>Freehub Body</h1><i>Featuring 3 multi-point pawls with 3 teeth each and a 48t ratchet ring. The result an impressively low 7.5 deg engagement angle. Durability is a theme for HUNT, and so all our freehub bodies have Steel Spline Insert re-enforcements to provide excellent durability against cassette sprocket damage often seen on standard alloy freehub bodies.</i>
<h1>Bearings</h1><i>The heart of any wheel. Investing in them makes huge sense. We use high-grade precision smooth-rolling sealed cartridge bearings. This wheelset has three of the rear hub bearings upgraded to low-friction LU/LB seals on the internal bearing face to further reduce rolling resistance whilst maintaining excellent sealing on the exposed faces.</i>
<h1>Adaptability</h1><i>Our wheels are seriously future-proof. We can adapt your wheels to any current axle standard, you just need to let us know what you require by filling in the simple form on the confirmation page after checkout. Please note these wheels will not work with the older 15mm front road TA standard.</i>
<h1>Tyres</h1><i>At HUNT, we enjoy the puncture resistance and grip benefits of tubeless on our every-day rides so we wanted to allow our customers the same option. Of course, all of our tubeless-ready wheels are designed to work perfectly with clincher tyres and inner tubes too.</i>
<h1>Rim Profile</h1>
<h1>Rim Bed</h1><i>H-Lock is our tubeless-ready rim bed profile with up-kicks to the shoulders of the tubeless steps which help to create a great rim-well seal for first installation and easy sealing of tubeless tyres. The H-Lock profile also locks the beads in place more securely once seated. This is especially important when running lower pressures off road.</i>

However, they are aerodynamically limited by rim brake calipers limiting the maximum width of the brake track. Further, most are optimised for narrower tyres. 23mm tyres used to be the standard… but for us, you and most pro riders, 25/28 and even 30mm tyres are the preferred choice. Let’s face it: when leaning in on the final turn of a mass bunch sprint or descending sweeping alpine bends, you want serious grip! Plus, the lower rolling resistance benefits of 25 and 28mm tyres* mean that road disc aero wheels should be specifically designed around these wider tyres. Accordingly, this wheelset has been designed using schematics and feedback from Schwalbe's own engineers.
(*Especially rider-system benefits, wheel & tyre only tests do not include rider damped losses, and how lower pressures reduce these losses by reducing rider movement. This is a whole other area we will be releasing scientific data on.)

    • For the 34 Aero Wide Disc SL HUNT recommend a 28mm tyre for best performance, tyre widths between 22mm and 47mm are also safe to use. You must not exceed the maximum tyre pressure limits set out in the table below or the maximum limit set by your tyre manufacturer if this is lower. Note: best performance is usually gained by using tyre pressures lower than the maximum, you can see our blog post here about this.
    • You must not exceed the maximum pressure stated on your tyre.
    • Suitable tubeless road, gravel and CX tyres are available from a huge range of companies.
  • Axle Sizes

    These wheels are available with all existing disc brake road bike axle adapter sizes. We fit the axles you need, just complete the simple form shown after checkout:

    All HUNT wheels models have to pass our harsh cobbled-rolling-road tests for rider weight limits, please see here for more details. Max system weight 115kg (system weight – total weight of fully kitted up rider, bike and luggage). If a rider is over 105kgs then an experienced bike mechanic should check the wheel regularly. We are cyclists ourselves and do of course go above and beyond to offer excellent service if you ever do experience any issues. We carry full spares at very reasonable prices and offer complete support.

    60 Day Ride & Return Period. We are certain you'll be impressed by the acceleration, low-weight, speed and durability of our wheels. We are cyclists and as such strive to offer class leading service and support. Buy with confidence, if for any reason you wish to return the wheels for a full refund of your order you can do so up to a full 60 days after you receive them whether they have been ridden or not. Please note we cannot offer refunds on wheels that have suffered from crash damage but do offer a crash replacement discount.

  • Tyres Info

    • For the 34 Aero Wide Disc SL HUNT recommend a 28mm tyre for best performance, tyre widths between 22mm and 47mm are also safe to use. You must not exceed the maximum tyre pressure limits set out in the table below or the maximum limit set by your tyre manufacturer if this is lower. Note: best performance is usually gained by using tyre pressures lower than the maximum, you can see our blog post here about this.
    • You must not exceed the maximum pressure stated on your tyre.
    • Suitable tubeless road, gravel and CX tyres are available from a huge range of companies.
  • Axle Sizes

    These wheels are available with all existing disc brake road bike axle adapter sizes. We fit the axles you need, just complete the simple form shown after checkout:

    • Front: 12x100mm Thru-Axle, 9x100mm Thru-Axle, Quick Release 9x100mm
    • Rear: 12x142mm Thru-Axle, 12x135mm Thru-Axle, 10x135mm Thru-Axle, Quick Release 9x135mm

    If you are unsure what size your axles are don't worry it also includes the option to tell us your bike model and we will find out and then fit the correct axles, plus we're happy to change them later at our cost if you don't quite get it right. Please note; this form is shown after you have completed your order.

    All HUNT wheels models have to pass our harsh cobbled-rolling-road tests for rider weight limits, please see here for more details. Max system weight 115kg (system weight – total weight of fully kitted up rider, bike and luggage). If a rider is over 105kgs then an experienced bike mechanic should check the wheel regularly. We are cyclists ourselves and do of course go above and beyond to offer excellent service if you ever do experience any issues. We carry full spares at very reasonable prices and offer complete support.

    60 Day Ride & Return Period. We are certain you'll be impressed by the acceleration, low-weight, speed and durability of our wheels. We are cyclists and as such strive to offer class leading service and support. Buy with confidence, if for any reason you wish to return the wheels for a full refund of your order you can do so up to a full 60 days after you receive them whether they have been ridden or not. Please note we cannot offer refunds on wheels that have suffered from crash damage but do offer a crash replacement discount.
