Engineered from scratch for big days in the high mountains. Ultralight hookless rims keep rotating mass absurdly low, hand-laced with UD carbon spokes to further reduce weight and increase lateral responsiveness. The wind-tunnel designed 25mm wide/32mm deep Aerodynamicist rim profile slips through wind, savings seconds up and down.

HUNT Sprint SLC hubs transfer power efficiently and reliably, with an engagement angle of just 7.5 degrees.

Tyre size: Aero optimized for 25 to 28mm tyres; work well with 25mm up to 40mm.

The Purpose _

We created the 32 Aerodynamicist UD Carbon Spoke Disc wheelset for riders who seek out the high mountains. The result of extensive research and development, and years of experience progressing proprietary HUNT Aerodynamicist designs, we paired lightweight, hookless rims with UD Carbon Spokes for added lateral stiffness, as well as further weight reduction. Laced to our new cold-forged Sprint SLC hubs with rapid 7.5-degree engagement and enhanced power transfer, this wheelset is exceedingly lightweight at 1213 grams, while still offering the responsiveness, reliability and serviceability that HUNT riders have come to expect.

6% more laterally responsive than identical steel spoked wheels, with significantly less weight. Further benefiting from the high-frequency vibration absorption capabilities of carbon fibre in the UD spokes, as well as the rim.

Aerodynamicist

Aerodynamicist 32mm-deep and 25mm-wide rim profile, exclusively engineered and wind tunnel tested by HUNT's in-house engineering team, featuring a hookless/straight-sidewall and ETRTO-compliant tubeless-ready rim, designed for tubeless tyre compatibility.

Sprint SLC Hubs

Sprint SLC hubs add strength and enhance power transfer, meaning more of your power pushing you forwards. The hub shell is a cold-forged 7000 series alloy, offering a greater strength-to-weight ratio than extruded 6000 series alloys. Large 15mm diameter hub axles for sprinting and out-of-saddle climbing responsiveness. Circular dropout interface steps ensure a secure fitment. Center-lock brake mount.

TECHNOLOGY _

For high frequency vibration, carbon spokes offer much greater damping characteristics to that of an equivalent steel spoke

Rims

Aerodynamicist disc-specific rim profiles, designed from the ground up by HUNT engineers. Toray T700/T800 carbon fiber with a stronger ratio of T800 (T40) fibers to achieve a greater strength-to-weight ratio. Unidirectional sidewalls with 3K weave bed and spoke areas. Tubeless-ready for lower weight, rolling resistance, and better puncture protection.

Aerodynamicist Rim Profile

As learned from our Limitless Research project & wind tunnel time the past 3 years, an optimum aerodynamic benefit for a drop-bar bike is yielded from widening rim profiles. This allows for a far more 'blunted' spoke bed area, resulting in predictable airflow at a wider variety of wind yaw angles. The wider profile ensures the flow stays attached to the surface as long as possible before the point of separation, which is key as yaw angles increase.

Stiffness-to-weight

Engineered to provide a stiffness-to-weight ratio previously unseen on serviceable wheels. Coming in at just 1213g but with significant increases in lateral responsiveness, climbing wheels have never been so fast.

Hookless/Straight-sidewall design

When designing a wheelset with absolute lightness as the driving principle, then a hookless rim profile is the right choice. The weight savings offered (whilst being able to strengthen the rim) allow for a 1213g disc-brake wheelset that also offers an aerodynamic benefit over standard box section rims.

Freehub Body

Featuring 3x treble-tooth pawls and a 48 tooth ratchet ring results in an impressively low 7.5-degree engagement angle, and excellent resistance to wear under heavy loads. The Sprint freehub has strong individual pawl springs which drive a consistent engagement. There is also a Steel Spline Insert re-enforcement to provide excellent durability against cassette sprocket damage.

Weight

The consequence of the fanatical attention to detail is an outstandingly light 1213 gram wheelset weight. Gone are the days when having a disc-equipped road bike always resulted in a weight penalty. You can now float up the climbs, and then brake later than the others on the way back down!

UD Carbon Spokes

TaperLock UD carbon spokes offer up to a 30% increase in lateral responsiveness against steel equivalents. Only 2.7g per spoke and yet can handle tightening forces of ~450kgf per spoke. Owing to the TaperLock technology, these spokes can be trued using a spoke key from inside the rim bed.
