A mid-depth, lightweight go-to road wheelset for devoted all-around riders and racers, made even lighter by hand-lacing UD carbon spokes to HUNT Sprint SLC hubs for quick, 7.5 degree engagement, rapid acceleration and low rolling resistance.

The wind tunnel-developed 44mm Aerodynamicist profile reduces drag and shrugs off crosswind inputs with its wide, blunt profile.

Tyre size: Aero optimized for 25 to 28mm tyres; work well with 23mm up to 40mm.

NO Grade (30% OFF) - As New - you won't be able to tell they have been ridden.

Grade A (40% OFF) - Light use - Slight cosmetic marks on the wheels.

Grade B (50% OFF) - Used - It may have cosmetic marks to the hub or rim and will show signs of use - they have been serviced and checked by our master wheel builders and will provide many more miles of use.

The Purpose _

Introducing the 44 UD Carbon Spoke Disc, utilising our proven TaperLock carbon spoke technology, resulting in fully serviceable carbon-spoked wheels that can be trued like any other. With significant increases in lateral stiffness (see testing info below), they have been engineered to provide a stiffness-to-weight ratio previously unseen on serviceable wheels.

Please note these are refurbished wheels and some specifications may vary. These wheels have been inspected by our expert wheel builders and they come with our 3 year warranty as found on our new wheel products.

Aerodynamicist Rims

Aerodynamicist 29mm-wide rim, exclusively engineered and wind tunnel tested by HUNT's in-house engineering team, featuring a hooked & ETRTO-compliant tubeless-ready rim, designed for full clincher & tubeless tyre compatibility.

HUNT Sprint SLC

Adding strength and enhance power transfer, meaning more of your power pushing you forwards. Light, reliable, race-winning, and easy-to-service. The system delivers a fast 7.5°engagement angle and proven durability.

UD Carbon Spokes

6% more laterally responsive than identical steel spoked wheel, with significantly less weight. Further benefiting from the high-frequency vibration absorption capabilities of carbon fibre in the UD spokes, as well as the rim.

Aerodynamicist Rim Profile

As learned from our Limitless Research project & consistent wind tunnel time across the past 2 years, we know that an optimum aerodynamic benefit for a drop-bar bike is yielded from widening rim profiles. The reasons for this is that it allows for a far more 'blunted' spoke bed area, which (depending on which part of the wheel you're looking at) is both the leading and trailing edge. The benefits of blunted spoke bed areas revolve primarily around the predictable airflow, with the wind ‘hugging’ the rim as it passes across it (as opposed to older style V-shaped rims, which would create turbulence in the form of stalls). The wider profile ensures the flow stays attached to the surface as long as possible before the point of separation, which is key as yaw angles increase..

STIFFNESS-TO-WEIGHT

With significant increases in lateral stiffness, they have been engineered to provide a stiffness-to-weight ratio previously unseen on serviceable wheels. Coming in at just 1352g but with significant increases in lateral responsiveness, disc wheels have never been so fast.

Rim Bed

Designed around a 20mm internal rim width optimised for a 25c tyre (but will of course work without compromise with both 23c and 28c tyres). They feature a hooked tyre retention design and are both fully ETRTO-compatible and tubeless-ready.

Designed around a 20mm internal rim width optimised for a 25c tyre (but will of course work without compromise with both 23c and 28c tyres). They feature a hooked tyre retention design and are both fully ETRTO-compatible and tubeless-ready.

UD Carbon Spokes

Incredibly strong (achieving over 450kgf per spoke) TaperLock UD carbon spokes offering 30% increase in stiffness against steel ones. Only 2.7g per spoke. Due to the TaperLock technology, these spokes can be trued easily using a spoke key from within the rim bed.

Freehub Body

Featuring 3x treble-tooth pawls and a 48 tooth ratchet ring results in an impressively low 7.5-degree engagement angle, and excellent resistance to wear under heavy loads. The Sprint freehub has strong individual pawl springs which drive a consistent engagement. There is also a Steel Spline Insert re-enforcement to provide excellent durability against cassette sprocket damage.
