Al's Custom Swarf Hardtail

Our very own internet legend Al, yes he is the guy from the MBR videos, had a very specific criteria in mind when looking for his new bike.

Unfortunately, nobody produced what he wanted. So, undeterred he set about finding a builder to create his own one of a kind ride.

We spoke to Josh, who confirmed Ryan is the real deal, and the two spent some time together at BikingMan Oman. The result? The trailer for what we think will grow to be a pivotal documentary.

LOST IN SPACE

Today is the first time in 2 months that an ever-shifting tug of war, between excitement & terror, has given way entirely. In its wake lies only a quiet anxiety. Why? I’m flying to Morocco tomorrow to go solo on my first ever bikepacking trip, and I’ve never bivvi‘d in my life. To borrow some wisdom from the fantastic storyteller Phil Knight; the accountant in me sees the risk, the entrepreneur sees the opportunity, and so I split the difference and keep moving forward.

It's one thing being able to develop our wheels to deliver results at World Tour events with the Canyon DHBteam, but it's equally important to look after things locally. We've been working closely with Dan Pullen of the N+1 Shop & Cafefor a couple of years now, from product testing to sales & support. He even raced on the HUNT team that won the Revolve 24-hour endurance race at Brands Hatch back in 2017.

New for 2019, Dan has launched a new team in collaboration with Lindfield Coffee Works, taking amateur local riders with ambitions of racing, and developing their skills. Speaking on the team & development program...

There is bar tape; a padded saddle; brakes front and rear; the handlebar drops have not been taken to with a hacksaw and there is no visible drillium action going on. He even has Bottle cages! So what makes this a hill climb bike...?
