Engineered for riders hunting for every second in the high mountains, the 34_34 Aerodynamicist Carbon Disc wheels blend cutting edge aerodynamics with lightweight carbon construction. Created by HUNT's own engineers, the carefully shaped rims deliver a perfect climbing wheelset weighing under 1200g, with wind-tunnel tested aerodynamic performance.

Tyre size: Aerodynamically optimised for 28-30mm tyres. Wide, modern profile is ETRTO compliant with 25mm up to 50mm tyres.

The Purpose _

The Aerodynamicist Range has been re-engineered for raw speed, with new rim profiles developed in-house through extensive CFD testing and wind tunnel testing. For riders seeking every performance advantage, the 34mm depth saves watts through efficient aerodynamics at an ultra-light weight.

Aero wing spokes slice through the wind, while remaining durable and easy to service. They’re hand-laced to our H_Ratchet 40T DBL hub, for precise 9-degree engagement. Enduro™ ABEC 5 chromium steel bearings provide outstanding durability and smooth rolling, keeping you rolling faster for longer.

No Compromise Rim Profile

Designed for the perfect balance of light weight and aero performance. The 34mm rims, developed through CFD and wind tunnel testing have a 28.4mm external width to optimise airflow and a 22mm internal rim supports 25 – 50mm tubeless or clincher tyres.

Reliable, Rapid H_Ratchet Hub System

H_Ratchet 40T DBL, is a dual-sided ratchet system with 40-tooth drive rings offers rapid and reliable 9-degree engagement for quick response to pedal inputs. 6066 aluminium alloy hub shell with extra strong 7075-T6 alloy axle and freehub body for durability. H_Ceramik reinforced coating to protect against gouging.

Low Friction, High Durability Bearings

High performance chromium steel Enduro™ ABEC 5 Bearings are specifically designed for cycling applications to provide excellent longevity and low rolling resistance, no matter the weather.

Responsive UD Carbon Spokes

Boasting a 6% increase in lateral responsiveness compared to steel spoke counterparts, with significantly less weight. High-frequency vibration absorption properties of carbon fibre in the UD spokes further benefit riders seeking a responsive ride with less distraction.

TECHNOLOGY _

The HUNT 34_34 Aerodynamicist UD Carbon Spoke Disc offers riders drag-reducing rim profiles in a featherweight package that does not compromise on strength and can compete with the best on mountain stages. As outlined in our transparent data report, the 34_34 Aerodynamicist offers a drag reduction of 0.18-watts compared to a well-respected and Grand Tour stage winning competitor (Reserve 34|37 TA) whilst being 217g lighter.

Wind tunnel testing data reported that the aerodynamic performance of the Shimano Dura-Ace C36 demonstrated a 0.54-watt lead over all other wheelsets on test. A wide 22mm internal rim width optimizes the tyre-to-rim with a 28mm tyre, enhancing aerodynamic performance while improving ride comfort and cornering stability. Despite being a deeper wheelset than its predecessor, the total system weight is an impressive 1175 grams, an achievement made through the utilisation of advanced carbon layup optimisation.

Taking the learnings from our Limitless Speed Project but utilizing traditional manufacturing methods, the Aerodynamicist rim profiles deliver optimum aerodynamic benefit from wide rim profiles. The wide and far more 'blunted' spoke bed area, allows wind to flow in a more predictable pattern once separating from the rim providing a smooth and aerodynamically efficient package.

Reliable, Quick Engagement

The H_Ratchet freehub system offers smooth, quick, reliable 9˚ engagement with dual-sided ratchet rings for easy servicing. Designed for durability, the reinforced H_Ceramik coating protects against cassette damage, while the forged and CNC’d alloy body and 7075-T6 aluminium axle provide increased stiffness and strength.

UD Carbon Spokes

Weighing just 2.7 grams each, UD Carbon Spokes can handle tightening forces of ~450kgf, allowing us to increase lateral responsiveness while significantly reducing weight across the wheelset. The high-frequency vibration absorption properties of carbon fiber further benefit ride feel by reducing road chatter. TaperLock technology allows for truing and adjustment.

Reliable, Low-Friction Enduro™ Bearings

Super smooth precision Enduro™ ABEC 5 stainless steel cartridge bearings. Enduro™ ABEC 5 bearings are designed specifically for bicycle applications as they offer the deepest grooves and largest balls possible in every size to increase bearing strength and durability.

All-Road Ready Resistance

Hunt road wheels all pass UCI impact testing standards. HUNT Wheels' road wheels must also undergo significantly elevated impact testing using a sharpened anvil and higher impact energies to better replicate pothole strikes compared to the flat UCI impact test pad.
